Join Coach Ron Thompson for a presentation on the “Making of Champions- Marco Arop and Ryder Rattee”
For over four decades, Ron has been a driving force in athletics, shaping the Edmonton community and nurturing countless athletes. Among his most notable successes is Marco Arop, who Ron first discovered at a high school meet in 2016, and who went on to become the first Canadian man to win World Championship gold in the 800m.
Ron’s impact extends far beyond individual achievements. He has coached at the University of Alberta, led teams for Team Alberta and Team Canada, and developed athletes who went on to become national and international coaches. His expertise as a sport performance trainer has even reached the NHL, with nine of his athletes skating in the league.
