Beginning October 1, 2020 Saskatchewan Athletics will now be providing FREE merchandise incentives to coaches for each level of certification they achieve. The incentive for each level will be as follows:
Sport Coach – Sask Athletics water bottle
Club Coach – Sask Athletics water bottle & Sask Athletics hat OR toque
Performance Coach – Sask Athletics water bottle & Sask Athletics hat OR toque & Sask Athletics Polo Shirt
There are also incentives for coaches who are currently certified. For these coaches though, they will need to achieve a certain number of PD points, depending on what level they are certified at, within the calendar year (October 1, 2020 – October 1, 2021) to be eligible for a merchandise incentive. These PD points can be achieved through online NCCP modules (both multi-sport and Athletics specific), online ALTIS courses, or other courses/modules that give you credit for PD points. The breakdown for PD points and the corresponding merchandise incentive is as follows:
Sport Coach Level – 3 PD points for a Sask Athletics Water Bottle
Club Coach Level – 6 PD points for a Sask Athletics water bottle & Sask Athletics hat OR toque
Performance Coach Level – 9 PD points for Sask a Sask Athletics water bottle & Sask Athletics hat OR toque & Sask Athletics Polo Shirt
*Please note that a coach cannot achieve a merchandise incentive that is a higher level than what they are currently certified at. – e.g. A Club Coach cannot receive a Polo Shirt even if they attain more than 6 PD points during the year.
**A coach is still eligible to receive an incentive lower than their level of certification. – e.g. A Performance Coach who is only able to attain 6 PD points during the year is still eligible to receive a water bottle & a hat or a toque.
